STACY PAETZEL, RLA - Founder and Principal
Marshall Paetzel Landscape Architecture, PC was founded by Stacy Paetzel, a New York State Registered Landscape Architect. Ms. Paetzel is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, US Green Building Association, American Planning Association, and former board member of the New York State Council of Landscape Architects and NY Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
An active member of the design community, Ms. Paetzel has organized review sessions and taught courses to assist up-and-coming landscape architects obtain licensure. Ms. Paetzel was appointed to the ASLA National Licensure Committee for her continuing work to promote the profession.
Before forming MPLA, Ms. Paetzel worked for Land Marks, a land planning and conservation firm based in East Hampton, New York. East Hampton’s zoning regulations are some of the most progressive in the country. Ms. Paetzel has assisted many clients by preparing plans for submission to municipalities and communicates with municipal boards and planning staff to find workable solutions.
JONATHAN PAETZEL, RLA - Partner
After receiving his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1998, Jonathan returned to his Native Long Island to begin his career in landscape architecture. Jonathan spent his first five years in the profession with a small design firm honing skills in landscape design and horticulture. With a strong desire to have more influence in project implementation and construction oversight, Jonathan joined a landscape contracting company involved with residential and public landscape construction as their lead designer. Jonathan would become managing director at the company where he managed the implementation of large-scale landscape projects designed by many notable landscape architects and designers from all across the country. Jonathan also designed and managed the installation of his own substantial residential landscape projects, winning multiple awards during his eleven years with the company.
In 2014, after the success and growth of the firm his wife Stacy Paetzel started ten years earlier, Jonathan joined the team of Marshall Paetzel Landscape Architecture. Jonathan's extensive experience with high end project management and job site supervision has been an excellent addition to the firm. His extraordinary attention to detail and knowledge of materials and construction make him ideally suited to oversee the preparation of bids and construction documents, as well as being the point of contact with contractors in the field. Jonathan is dedicated to achieving flawless results during the implementation of all MPLA designs, while ensuring our clients are receiving the best value from the contractors they hire.
ARIEL M. SPADE, Design Associate
Ariel attended State University of New York - College of Environmental Science & Forestry, and graduated with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture in 2013. Prior to joining MPLA, Ms. Spade worked at Sasaki+Spade Architects in Chappaqua, New York, where she worked on residential and commercial design. Ms. Spade loves to be outdoors exploring and analyzing the environment around her through photography as well as painting.
TIM KENNISTON, RLA
Tim is a registered Landscape Architect with license to practice in Connecticut and New York. Being a native to the Connecticut shoreline, his experience in high end residential design spans from Fairfield County to eastern Long Island. He graduated in 2010 from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Landscape Architecture, CTASLA Honors Award and a passion for creating beautiful spaces. After graduation he developed his design palette and technical skillset working for design firms on the South Fork and in Southwestern Connecticut.
At MPLA Tim enjoys using a creative approach to help clients realize their goals and bring concept to reality.
SARAH DOMINSKY, Horticulturalist
Following graduation from West Virginia University with a degree in Landscape Architecture Sarah moved to San Francisco to take an internship with the National Park Service. During this time she focused on restoring native landscapes as well as fine gardening on the historic Gardens of Alcatraz. Remaining in the bay area after her internship she focused primarily on wetland mitigation and native plant restoration.
Deciding to further her love of horticulture and garden design she applied and was accepted at Longwood Gardens two-year Professional Gardener Program outside of Philadelphia. During this time Sarah worked as an estate gardener, a horticulturalist in public gardens, and as a design assistant and crew lead for a design build company. Sarah brings to MPLA strong horticultural knowledge as well as a strong sense for garden design.
Ivy, the boxer, assists with office security and spends her free time on long runs and car rides.
